Same Day Crowns
Many dental patients aren’t aware that it’s possible to have a crown made and replaced in a single visit, eliminating the need for several trips to a dentist’s office and waiting one to three weeks for a crown to be made. Also, a same day crown can be made in the most precise way possible because every process is done by one person, rather than a third-party who never met the patient and doesn’t know all of the details necessary to do a perfect job.
Dr. Andriy Shevchuk is very pleased to offer his patients same-day crowns. He utilizes the latest technology, a CEREC computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system to design his crowns.
Our CEREC system allows us to deliver high-quality, natural looking crowns in just one visit! Moreover, our digital scanning technology replaces traditional physical impressions, eliminating the need to fill your mouth with that uncomfortable “gooey stuff” that often feels like it is running down your throat. Also, there is no need to wear a temporary crown for two weeks. Temporary crowns have a tendency to come off at the worst possible moment.
How does same day crown technology work?
To make your same day crown, Dr. Andriy first takes a digital image (3D scan) of your damaged tooth. With the help of our high-tech CAD/CAM software, he’ll design every detail of your new crown. Our on-site milling machine will create a high-quality, all-ceramic, color-matched crown in just a few minutes! Then, we’ll polish, fit, and bond it for permanence.
Although we still work with laboratories whenever we have a particularly complex situation, in most cases we are able to offer same day crowns, so that you won’t need to schedule a second appointment, have a temporary crown, and become “numb” more than once.
